My name is Alexis Monai Smith

Alexis Monai Smith is a writer and editor based in Buffalo, New York. She graduated from The New School Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts with a Bachelor of Arts in Literary Studies. Alexis has extensive experience in various forms of writing, including literary writing, journalism, and screenwriting.

In 2018, she co-founded the Decolonizing Beauty Project, an Instagram-based initiative that aims to highlight and recognize non-European forms of beauty.

Currently, Alexis continues to freelance on her blog, Lexi's Corner, and is open to collaborating on creative writing projects, publishing, and online media.

Difficult Words

However, the problem I've found is that I couldn't freaking pronounce the word Pilates. D on't you hate difficult words. Like words that are spelled no way how they should sound. For instance, take— Pilates. I love Pilates, it's the trendy chic exercise that girls in Soho do. And I'm very impressed by it.
